A Beginners guide to Tinder Passport

An app which has a special place in my heart. Which I did the most photoshoots for during my carreer as an online dating photographer and I know the most about. This is why I decided to give you a head start and let you love without borders with this simple beginners guide to Tinder Passport.

It is made from a personal view and will maybe be updated when needed in the future. I hope you enjoy reading this guide as much as I loved creating it for you.

Why should you use the passport function?

If I remember correctly Tinder Passport came out years ago during a Covid Summer. We still wanted to date but we couldn’t travel.

So Tinder came up with a genius function and it was free when it just came out. Nowadays you need to be a subscriber to be able to use it.

Pour yourself a sex on the beach, put on a Summer Spotify playlist and dress into your swim outfit and let’s explore the world together!

“With Passport™, you can search by city or drop a pin on the map and begin Liking, matching and chatting others in the destination of your choice. Navigate between your current location and new destinations!”

Tinder passport is extremely handy for frequent flyers, business men who travel the world and remote workers. Also why not use it on your holiday to find your summer love?

Let’s get the matches going before you fly over so you can meet up quickly and save a lot of time when you’re at your destination.

How does it work?

You can only virtually be in one city at a time, but you can change your location as many times as you’d like. People you’ve Liked while using the Passport feature may see your profile up to 24 hours after you’ve changed your location(s).

Pro tip:
Do you want to figure out if someone is using the Passport? It is a little give away if you can’t see the distance from you in their profile.

Now let’s get started!

Let's prepare our travel journey!

We board our virtual plane and set the location we want in the settings, which will bring up options located directly about the profile.

When you scroll down you will see the ‘Location’ option.

From this point, you can add additional locations that change the place from which you swipe.

Users will see you as though you are there whenever you move the red pin to the desired spot.

Tinder's guide to passport love:

“Fall in love with new (dating) cultures

This summer, the girls are outside, and it’s the perfect time to expand your dating pool with Passport™. Chatting with people in new areas is a great way to expand your horizons and get to know what dating looks like in other cultures. And for the ultra-adventurous, try Passporting in multiple locations – since you can change PassportTM locations as often as you’d like, you can experience what it’s like to date in France, Brazil, Thailand, and more, all from the comfort of your own home.”

“Collect passport stamps (and hearts) while on a journey to self-growth

Ever scrolled down your match list and noticed that all of your matches look kinda…similar? Don’t lie, whether it’s the same height and build, or interests that exactly match the ones on your profile, we’ve all had moments where we’ve narrowed in a bit too much on our idea of the “perfect” match. This summer is about growth, and if you keep swiping on Chad’s, you’re only gonna get Chad’s.  Break out of your romantic comfort zone and see what you learn about yourself in the process.”

Avoid dating burnout by heating up your love life in different area codes

If your typical type is starting to feel like a big beige flag, you might be in dating burnout territory. However, we came prepared with solutions – widening your search radius to a new location is a great way to avoid burnout and feel refreshed and excited about your dating prospects. Remember, one of the best parts of dating is stumbling upon an unexpected connection, so take the leap and see what a new approach may bring you!”

“Finding travel friends is just as good as romantic connections

Gone are the days of worldwide quarantines, but after losing 2 years of IRL socializing, we all are still finding our footing when it comes to building relationships, much less making friends. Well, Tinder is the perfect place to practice those rusty conversation skills! Just make sure to adjust your relationship goal to “new friends” and you’re on your way to finding your ~travel~ soulmate. “

My own bonus tip:

Start swiping and matching! But if I were you, I’d let my matches know what your boarding plans are, that you maybe are still at home or at the airport, explain your situation clearly and leave nothing for a surprise.

Clear direct communication is always key especially when it can be confusing because you are using a virtual location changer function!

Speaking of clear communication, using Tinder Passport makes it so fun to chat with your matches about recommendations of the hottest local bars, where to get caffeinated with the strongest espresso and what undiscovered gems you absolutely mustn’t miss out!

Final thoughts

Personally, I believe that this is a great paid method for the vacationers, remote employees, and travelers under us!

I can understand how time-consuming it must have been for you to first to be at the destination, so you could to go out and discover your love.

Now that we have a plan of action before we travel, we can save time by doing the enjoyable match making while we are still at home.

Also, it is a great way of connecting with the local women/men there whilst asking them about their favorite places, restaurants and undiscovered gems!

The only downside I see, is that it’s another paid subscription and for those of us who don’t travel it can feel like window shopping where you see beautiful potential matches but you are thousands kilometers away! Will a long-distance relationship work? Is that worth it?

All in all I am here for it and loving the technical advances that online dating offers. I can’t wait to see what Tinder and other dating apps will come up with to make the dating experience more smoothly and fun so I can share the good news with you all via my blogs.

Thank you Tinder for letting me use me this blog with the original guide that they have made and letting me use the help page about Tinder Passport.
